Presidential Budget Proposes 10 Percent Cut to U.S. Department of Education, UAOS Opposes Cuts in Joint Letter
President Donald Trump proposes cutting U.S. Department of Education's budget by 10 percent in his 2020 budget. This means the U.S. Department of Education’s budget would decrease by $7.1 billion to $64 billion starting in October. Read the full story in Education Week here.
In response to the president’s proposed budget, the United Administrators of Oakland Schools (UAOS) signed on to a joint letter with other education-focused organizations urging Congress to raise federal budget caps to adequately fund education programs. The letter can be read here.
